What
is Ozone?
Ozone is an
enriched pure oxygen special form of oxygen where three oxygen atoms form one
molecule of ozone (O3) whereas the 'normal' atmospheric oxygen is built up by
only two atoms of oxygen (O2). Under the UV or discharge's function, oxygen can
easily produce ozone, so it is more commonly known as "Activated Oxygen" .
Ozone occurs when an electrical charge, such as Lightning or corona discharge,
molecularly disassociates a stable molecule (O2) and splits them apart leaving
two unstable atoms (O1) of oxygen. Seeking stability, these atoms attach to
other oxygen molecules (O1) creating ozone (O3).
Why does
ozone kill odors, germs, and pollutants?
Ozone is a
highly reactive oxidant. The third atom is loosely attached and easily
separates from the ozone molecule to combine with other substances. After some
time, ozone can break up to oxygen, thus it is called environment matter. Now
ozone is becoming widely used in both air and water purification and is used to
oxidize odors such as Cooking Odors, Pet Odors, Garbage Odors, Cigarette Smoke
Odors, Mold and Mildew Odors in Basements, Fire Damage Odors, Water Damage
Odors, etc. It reacts readily with any chemical compound, both organic and
inorganic, that is present in a reduced state.Therefore, ozone acts highly
'corrosive' to any compound that can be oxidized.
What
does ozone smell like?
Ozone's
characteristic odor can be smelled immediately after a lightening storm or near
photocopiers and electric motors, all which generate ozone. Its odor has also
been described as the smell of clean bed sheets or forest air.
Is ozone
safe?
Due to its
different chroma, ozone can either be poison or medicine. It exists minim in
nature (0.01-0.05) and it is important to protect the environment. Many
countries establish the safegaurd of ozone, e.g, within 0.1ppm (8hours/10 or 5
minutes ) about 20ppmm, even people under such circumstance have no harm.
Because ozone is made of oxygen and reverts to pure oxygen, it vanishes without
trace once it has been used. Compare this with other disinfectants. When ozone
disinfects or breaks down harmful bacteria or pollutants, there are generally
no by-products, unlike most disinfecting agents. Ozone in heavy dosages are not
recommended but low levels of ozone are safe. Our natural air purification
systems are designed to be below U.S. regulatory limits for ozone. There is no
danger associated with ions. The air purification systems are designed to bring
ozone levels of a room to that of a forest.
What
about maintenance cost?
The only
maintenance cost associated with the air purifications systems is to replace
the ozone chamber in 1-1/2 to 3 years.

Product Questions
Which is the better unit , OZX- 300U or OZX-300Y ?
Both
OZX-300U and EOZ-300Y are at the same quality level. The difference of these
two products is that OZX-300U has a built in air pump, which EOZ-300Y does not
have. OZX-300U is designed for users who do not intend to use their own air
pumps or want to use ozone generator more easily without adding any extra
equipment. EOZ-300Y is an ozone unit without air pump. It has an air inlet
allowed users to use external air pumps or oxygen tanks to supply gases to it
for making ozone gas. It gives users very wide choices for arranging their own
air supply systems. By supplying pure oxygen to it, EOZ-300Y can be used for
making drinking water.
We have a couple of dogs that tend to smell
a bit. I was wondering if it would work to use your machine for about 5-10
minutes daily to help eliminate the dog smell? Would this harm the health of
the dogs (they live indoors) or humans, as I work out of the home do not leave
very often?
There are two ways
of using ozone for air purifying. a. Applying ozone at low ppm ( lower than 0.1
ppm ) for a long period. According to the safe guide, it is safe for human
exposure to ozone under 0.1 ppm within 8 hours. When the mold or odor in your
house are not very strong or there is a constant odor source; such as a pet;
plants; in your house, you can choose to use this method to your house to keep
it in a fresh clean air. b. High ppm, short time ( higher than 0.1ppm ) When
the mold and the odor problem in your house are very serious. You have to ozone
shock the house at a higher ppm of ozone. Firstly close windows; push on the
machine and then all people and pets leave the house. After about 30 ?60
minutes, come into the house and turn off the machine open windows to let the
house ventilated. Stay more 30 minutes outside the house, and then humans and
animals can go back into the room. Pump ozone into water and let dog taking
bath by ozone water can reduce its odors.
I am interested in this unit to apply ozone
to my aquarium. Have you used these units for this purpose before?
Many customers of
us use this unit for aquarium to improve their water quality. It is widely
discussed among funs of aquarium on many Internet forums.
I was wondering what the difference was
between these two products for my purposes of air odor control in a 10 x 10
foot room.
1. OZX-A200B
2. OZX-300U
OZX-A200B can be
used for air purifying only. OZX-300U can be used either for water purifying or
air purifying, but OZX-300U is designed mainly for water purifying. OZX-A200B
has a large air fan and big air inlet/air outlet. It can move the air much
easier and quicker spreading ozone to fill up a room. Also, it has 9 different
timer modes, which you do not need to switch it off by yourself if you selected
an adequate timer mode. OZX-300U does not have built in timer, so you have to
turn it off by your self when the time comes. If you use the machine for air
purifying only, we suggest you chose the OZX-A200B.
